Childcare

Providing quality care and education for children ages 2 years, 6 months – 5 years, NWF State College’s Mary Lou O’Connor Child Development and Education Center offers parents who are students, staff, and faculty (and community members on a space available basis) comprehensive and accessible care for their children. The center, open Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. is accredited by the NAEYC (National Association for the Education of Young Children) and provides a perfect training site for early childhood education students.

Counseling

Northwest Florida State College has partnered with Bridgeway Center, Inc. to provide mental health resources and counseling services to all actively enrolled students.

• All actively enrolled students are eligible to receive an initial assessment and up to five therapeutic sessions with a Behavioral Health provider at no cost to the student.
• Counseling is available both in-person and via telehealth.

Local scholarships:

The Carol & Bob Winsett Memorial Scholarship

Provided by The Destin Women’s Club. Specific requirements and criteria for the scholarship recipients are stipulated by Northwest Florida State College. The Scholarship Fund shall be utilized to provide a scholarship award to offset tuition and book expenses for a woman attending Northwest Florida State College. The scholarship recipient shall be a resident of the greater Destin area limited to Okaloosa and Walton county areas.
