The Well: Mt. Pleasant

Our organization provides food for the hungry in our community.  We do this in a manner that fully recognizes the dignity of each person who comes to us with this need.  We welcome them, listen to them, pray with them and provide personal accompaniment and client choice as they shop for food.

We operate without any geographical boundaries, ensuring that anyone who visits us will be provided with food.  Each year, since our founding in 2006, we have served more and more families from a wider geographical area.  We now operate four programs to meet the needs of those facing food insecurity.

Services provided:

• Food pantry
• Jetpack program (food/backpacks for kids)
• Mobile food pantries
• Family coaching

At the core of our ministry are our two food pantries, into which we welcome over 1400 families each month.  Our Jetpack Program provides weekend meal supplements for students in over two dozen local area schools. Our mobile food pantries bring 25,000 pounds of food to local area high schools fifteen times a year to provide greater access to food for people. And our family coaching program helps move families out of the cycle of poverty so that food insecurity no longer constrains them.

All you need to get started is a photo ID, such as a driver’s license or passport, with you on your first visit. We will make a copy of it to keep on file as we get you registered in our system.
