Good Shepherd Center

Los Angeles, CA

1650 Rockwood Street | Los Angeles | CA | 90026

We provide shelter, food, case management, and employment support to guide unhoused women and their children every step of the way on their move to self-sufficiency and lives of independence.

Since 1984, Good Shepherd Center has provided food, clothing, shelter and supportive services to some of our community’s most vulnerable members. Today, thousands are no longer experiencing homelessness, and are living healthy, safe and productive lives. We provide a continuum of services with the ultimate goal of permanently ending homelessness for those who come through our doors, without regard to race, religion or ethnicity.

Our program:

Four residential facilities and comprehensive support services designed to meet women and children wherever they are on their journey—offering stability, dignity, and a pathway to self-sufficiency.

  1. Crisis & Bridge Housing:
    1. Languille Shelter: The first step for women in crisis. Languille Shelter provides immediate safety with 30 beds in 15 semi-private units, along with comprehensive drop-in services for women who aren’t ready for residential programming.
    2. Hawkes Residence: 30 fully furnished SRO units providing temporary stabilization for unaccompanied women as they transition to permanent housing.
  2. Family Housing:
    1. Farley House: Transitional housing for mothers with up to two children, offering 21 furnished one-bedroom apartments and family-centered services.
  3. Long-term Housing:
    1. Angel Gaurdian Home: Long-term supportive housing for mothers with disabilities and their children, offering stability until the youngest child turns 18.
  4. Mobile Outreach: Our mobile van brings hope directly to the streets of MacArthur, Lafayette, and Echo Park—delivering food, clothing, toiletries, and connections to services three days a week.
  5. Employment Services: Our Employment Center goes beyond minimum wage jobs, focusing on skills training and professional development to help women achieve living wages and financial independence.
