Free shelter for low income families in the New Haven community.

CCA’s Hillside Family Shelter (HFS) provides emergency housing to families experiencing homelessness. Two parent and single male/female headed households, along with their children, can live securely in one of the 17 furnished HFS apartment style housing, and be treated with dignity and respect.

Holy Family Home and Shelter, Inc., is a non-profit organization, that offers 28 bed home and shelter for fathers, mothers and their children, and a small number of single females. Residents, who stay on average 60 days, receive 3 meals a day, life skills workshops, case management, laundry facilities, an education program for children, assistance with permanent housing and employment

The Emergency Shelter is a 50-bed facility available to homeless families and single adults. The program is staffed 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Customers are provided 3 meals a day and basic needs items as necessary. Support for every adult includes comprehensive case management. Action plans assist individuals to address needs such as housing, employment, treatment programs,

They work to encourage pregnant women to keep their baby or place their child for adoption. The center also provides free, confidential pregnancy tests and free, limited obstetrical ultra-sound services for women with pregnancies up to 20 weeks.

Their team of maternal and child health nurses utilizes the evidence-based Nurse-Family Partnership (NFP) nursing model which pairs mothers with your own personal nurse from pregnancy through your child’s second birthday. RVNA Health Nurse-Family Partnership is a voluntary, free program for eligible mothers residing in Western Connecticut.
