Since 2000, Nurse-Family Partnership has partnered with local and state agencies to improve outcomes for first-time moms and their babies. A proud partner of the Michigan Department of Health & Human Services, NFP serves families as part of the Michigan Home Visiting Initiative established to provide moms with services that best meet their needs.

Nurse-Family Partnership is free for women pregnant with their first baby. When you enroll you will be connected to a registered nurse who will provide you support, advice, and information you need to have a healthy pregnancy, a healthy baby, and to be a great mom.

They provide a caring, confidential atmosphere where a woman can find someone to help her work through her crisis and come to a decision for herself and her baby. They help women assess their physical, emotional, and spiritual needs and then assist them in finding resources to help meet those needs.

This class educates parents on the developmental stages of childhood, and the effect of environmental factors on their child’s development. Class also examines parenting styles and practices. Parents receive concrete strategies for establishing appropriate and realistic expectations; responding to and managing their child’s needs and behaviors; and developing norms for healthy family communication and teamwork.

Nurse-Family Partnership is a non-profit that transforms the first thousand days of life for babies born to moms living in poverty across the United States. Beginning during pregnancy, and until the child is two, nurses visit moms at home to educate them on parenting, share resources and perform health checks. Their goal is to reach more moms than ever.

As the only sexual trauma center in Acadiana, Hearts of Hope oversees all sexual assault reporting and case management for children and adult victims in the community.
