Providence House Domestic Violence Services seeks to end the cycle of domestic abuse through education, empowerment, and advocacy while providing a safe haven from abuse.

The Shalom House provides a temporary 21-bed shelter for women and children who have no where else to go. The shelter is located in the City of Harrisburg. As an emergency shelter, Shalom House provides for their basic needs: a bed, assistance with food resources, clothing, health and hygiene supplies, and a temporary address and telephone number.

Lourdeshouse is one of Catholic Charities’ “Homes for Healing,” residential homes that serve those in need. At Lourdeshouse, up to 16 women can stay at a time for shelter, maternity care and residential services.

Safe Berks provides a safe haven and support for victims of domestic violence and sexual assault through education, advocacy and a relentless commitment to prevent abuse. They are dedicated to fostering an inclusive environment where individuals can be their true selves and feel empowered to stand up to all forms of oppression.

House of His Creation as a life-affirming ministry provides women a place to heal, to grow, and to learn through housing and ongoing support.

CAADC is the primary provider of emergency housing to homeless families and individuals in Delaware County. Shelter is provided at the following sites: Life Center of Eastern Delaware County (single individuals), Wesley House Shelter (families and single females), Family Management Center (families)

As a residential shelter, Mothers’ Home provides a safe haven for vulnerable pregnant women in crisis. They encourage and help the mothers to prepare for their future and the future of their child. They focus on physical, emotional, and developmental needs including positive life skills, parenting, and job preparation. They strive to assist mothers to reach their goal of independence

Mary’s Shelter is a multifaceted comprehensive housing and social service agency that addresses pregnancy, parenting, and youth homelessness through proactive preventative work, crisis intervention services and stabilization back into the community.

Cradle of Hope offers housing and support to single mothers and their children. It can support up to six mothers and children for up to 18 months. The goal is to help mothers get full-time employment and permanent housing.

They work to end prison recidivism by providing a comprehensive Christian interim housing program for single mothers leaving prison, where they can reunite with their children and be empowered with the skills and opportunities necessary for long-term self-sufficiency.
