Wyoming Statute defines a safe haven provider as any fire station police station staffed 24 hours a day, 7 days a week or any hospital with an open emergency room. Each provider must have staff on site with emergency medical training.

A hospital, 24/7 fire station with a sign, or health care facility operating in the state of West Virginia shall take possession of a child not older than 30 days without a court order if the child is voluntarily delivered to the hospital or health care facility by its parent with intent not to return for the child.

A parent who transfers a newborn child not older than 72 hours to a qualified person at an appropriate location is not subject to any criminal liability for surrendering the newborn.
