Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), formerly known as Food Stamps If eligible, the SNAP program will help pay your grocery bill so that you and your child can eat well while you attend school. To be eligible, students must be a single parent who has a child under age of 6 in the home. The applicant may not have over 2,000 in cash or bank account assets. Student loans do not count as assets.
