The Students for Life of America club at UWF’s mission is to provide resources for pregnant and parenting students supporting them through their higher education. No parent is alone or should feel like they have to choose between an education and raising a family! Resources on Campus

Health Center: Pregnancy Tests and Referrals Offered

Counseling Center: Our services, consultations and outreach programs are offered free of charge. The UWF student health fee covers these services. However, the student will be responsible for the cost of any medications, laboratory tests, or other recommended medical tests as deemed necessary by the providers. Health insurance is not accepted or filed.

Argo Food Pantry: a free resource located in the Dean of Students Office in Building 960, Room 258 that provides nutritious and healthy food options for currently enrolled UWF students once a week with your student card.

Diaper Changing Stations: located in first floor library restroom (building 32) and buildings 38, 53, 54, 58a, 58c, 70, 72

Lactation Rooms: equipped with a lockable door, refrigerator, and an electrical outlet.

• John C. Pace Library on the Main Campus (Building 32), third floor – accessed via the Circulation Desk, first floor.
• University Commons (Building 22), second floor – accessed via the Service Desk on the first floor in the Great Hall.
• If these spaces are too far to conveniently access without major disruption to your schedule, please contact Title IX for assistance identifying alternative options.

Priority Parking: Students with a pregnancy-related medical need may be eligible for a temporary parking pass for accessible spaces. Students seeking this accommodation should contact Title IX Programs and/or Student Accessibility Resources.

On Campus Childcare Available: Children ages 6 months to 5 years of UWF students have priority, followed by faculty/staff, alumni, and children from the local community. School age children up to ten years old are eligible for our Summer Camp Program.

Online Education

Campus Policies

The University is required by the Department of Labor and the Department of Education to provide accommodations to pregnant and parenting students and employees as well as protect them from any harassment or discrimination. Title IX is part of a multi-departmental effort to support the needs of this population.

The first step of your UWF pregnancy support process is a meeting with Title IX Programs. You can contact our office via email at [email protected] or via phone at 850.474.2175.

• Accommodations: Students may request academic accommodations that are reasonable and do not fundamentally alter a course’s layout.
• Ongoing Support: Title IX staff will work with faculty and other University offices to coordinate short- and long-term needs to ensure continued academic progress.
