Safe Haven provides crisis intervention to any victim of domestic violence. Services include emergency shelter, individual and group counseling, legal advocacy for both civil and criminal matters, counseling and advocacy for children, information and referral to other community organizations, and community prevention education.

Holy Family Home and Shelter, Inc., is a non-profit organization, that offers 28 bed home and shelter for fathers, mothers and their children, and a small number of single females. Residents, who stay on average 60 days, receive 3 meals a day, life skills workshops, case management, laundry facilities, an education program for children, assistance with permanent housing and employment searches. Also provides referrals to other agencies if needed.

While trying to meet the immediate needs of their clients for food, clothing, childcare, and furnishings, they also try to tackle the underlying causes of poverty so that people can become self-sufficient.

Provides monthly basic needs assistance with clothing, household items, and baby goods for individuals facing emergency or transitional situations (such as unexpected pregnancy, job loss, divorce, or reduced income).

Nutritious Breakfast, Lunch & Snack are provided and are prepared on site. Full and Part-Day Classes are available. The program also includes Hearing, Vision & Developmental Screenings. Free program based on financial need.

Since 1988 the Malta House has been providing a nurturing home environment, support services, and independent living skills to pregnant and parenting mothers of all faiths and their children.

Their team of maternal and child health nurses utilizes the evidence-based Nurse-Family Partnership (NFP) nursing model which pairs mothers with your own personal nurse from pregnancy through your child’s second birthday. RVNA Health Nurse-Family Partnership is a voluntary, free program for eligible mothers residing in Western Connecticut.

You can apply for this grant with assistance from your high school’s guidance counselor, and it will give you as much as $2,000 a year to be used at a college in one of the following states: Connecticut, the District of Columbia, Maine, Massachusetts, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, or Vermont.

The Roberta B. Willis Need-Merit Scholarship Program awards recipients with up to $5,250 a year for full-time attendance in a 4-year program of study; up to $4,650 a year for full-time attendance in a 2-year program of study. The recipient must be a CT resident who is a high school senior or graduate with a high school junior year class rank of 20% or better and/or SAT scores of at least 1200 or ACT score of at least 25. Recipient must attend a CT public or non-profit private college.

CCA’s Hillside Family Shelter (HFS) provides emergency housing to families experiencing homelessness. Two parent and single male/female headed households, along with their children, can live securely in one of the 17 furnished HFS apartment style housing, and be treated with dignity and respect.

Holy Family Home and Shelter, Inc., is a non-profit organization, that offers 28 bed home and shelter for fathers, mothers and their children, and a small number of single females. Residents, who stay on average 60 days, receive 3 meals a day, life skills workshops, case management, laundry facilities, an education program for children, assistance with permanent housing and employment searches. Also provides referrals to other agencies if needed.

The Emergency Shelter is a 50-bed facility available to homeless families and single adults. The program is staffed 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Customers are provided 3 meals a day and basic needs items as necessary. Support for every adult includes comprehensive case management. Action plans assist individuals to address needs such as housing, employment, treatment programs, and transportation.

As an affiliate of Love Life, they pledge to remove whatever obstacles stand in the way of having a child, provide mentorship, throw baby showers, and connect individuals with resources inside and outside of the church. They also connect individuals who have had an abortion in the past with an Abortion Recovery Bible study.

We are a local organization serving the Bristol area with free furniture, household items, clothing, and guidance.

Through their network of services, they aid, support, and empower people experiencing poverty, homelessness, hunger, and mental health challenges so they may recover with dignity and develop sustainable solutions for a brighter future.

The Safe Haven Laws allows a parent to voluntarily give up custody of an infant age 30 days or younger, to the nursing staff of an emergency room. The parent will not be subject to arrest for abandonment.  This act does not protect the parent from being arrested and criminally prosecuted if abuse or neglect has occurred.
