The Roberston Center: The Robertson Center is your front door to connection and support at ETSU — a welcoming space that links you to the people, programs, and resources that help you thrive. Many of our programs are run by students, for students, giving you the chance to lead, support your peers, and grow along the way. The Robertson Center can help you make connections, meet basic needs, and find well-being resources.

Bucky’s Food Pantry: If you are in need of food items, you can fill out the Food Request Application for pickup at three locations: Buc Ridge Housing area situated next to the Central Receiving Warehouse at 325 Treasure Lane; D.P. Culp Student Center, on Seehorn Drive near the Passport Office; and ETSU Campus at Kingsport.

Bucky’s Career Closet: ETSU students in need of professional interview clothing can set an appointment to come to the closet and get one complete, interview-ready outfit per semester to keep free of charge. Located in the D. P. Culp Student Center (2nd Level), Carrier Center, Career Studio (beside Room 222A)

For Pregnant and Parenting Students

Nurse Family Partnership Program: Participants must be pregnant for the first time, below the 200% poverty level, and be less than 28 weeks pregnant to enroll in the program. Each mom is partnered with a registered nurse early in her pregnancy and receives ongoing nurse home visits until the child turns 2 years of age. Healthy Moms, Healthy Babies: Early support for mothers and infants ensures a healthy start and lasting benefits for both mom and child.

Families First Program: The ETSU Center for Community Outreach serves as the Family Focused Solutions Provider for thirty-four counties in the Northeast, East, and Southeast Regions in Tennessee. Families First, the state’s Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) program, is a workforce development and employment program. This program is temporary, with a primary focus on gaining self-sufficiency through employment. Families First helps participants to reach this goal by providing temporary cash assistance, transportation, child care assistance, educational supports, job training, employment activities, and other support services. ETSU is the Support Service and Activity Provider for the State of Tennessee.

Lactation Rooms & Diaper Changing Stations Available– there are two Lactation Suites on campus (D. P. Culp Student Center and Charles C. Sherrod Library) for faculty, staff, students, and visitors. The Lactation Suite provides equipment and space for new mothers who are breastfeeding their baby and need a quiet, safe space to pump. The room is located on the 2nd floor of the Student Center and the 4th floor of Sherrod Library. The secure, clean, lockable, private rooms contain a soft seated chair, hand sanitizer, paper towels, Clorox wipes, trash can, baby changing table, and sink for use.

On Campus Childcare Available: The Ballad Center for Early Learning at ETSU is one site where ETSU students may qualify for childcare. Through a unique partnership with ETSU, the Ballad Center for Early Learning employs students studying in various areas. Students provide extensive support to classroom teachers while at the center. They assist in organizing and implementing projects, facilitating learning, and building relationships with children and families.

Childcare Assistance Available– The Little Bucs childcare program provides assistance with locating childcare and identifying possible funding subsidies for current students with children between the ages of 5 weeks to 6 years old.  Childcare may be available at the Ballad Center for Early Learning at ETSU on Signal Drive, at another Ballad childcare facility through a reciprocal agreement, or by another licensed childcare provider or agency in the state of Tennessee. Childcare assistance is subject to availability at all sites.
