United Christian Ministries

United Christian Ministries of Jackson County aims to support individuals facing urgent physical, financial, social, or spiritual difficulties in gaining independence. We operate a food pantry, distribute personal and household supplies, and offer assistance for overdue utilities, heating, rent, and RX copays to residents of Jackson County. We work with various local support organizations to better serve our community. 

Services offered:

• Food pantry and Holiday Help: United Christian Ministries is mainly a client-choice food pantry. Our neighbors can pick up groceries every two weeks. The pantry is well-stocked with fresh fruits and vegetables, canned goods, rice, pasta, frozen meats, bakery items, and more. We provide personal toiletries such as soap, shampoo, and toothpaste, along with household essentials like toilet paper and dish detergent, when available. These items are generously donated by local supporters, so their availability may vary. During the winter months, we distribute donated blankets and cold-weather items as they become available. For Thanksgiving, we provide Food Lion gift cards to assist with your holiday meal. For Christmas, we work with local schools to distribute food bags to families, helping meet the extra food needs that arise when schools are closed for Winter Break.
• Financial aid: UCM also provides financial assistance to eligible individuals for overdue essential bills, including rent, utilities, heating, and prescription co-pays. This financial help is available once a year.
• Spiritual help & Referrals: As a compassionate Christian Ministry, we would be happy to provide you with a Bible or connect you with a local pastor for additional support. And if we can’t meet all your needs, we can refer you to other agencies we collaborate with.
