AVANCE provides free parent education programs, including GED in Spanish, ESL, healthy marriage, fatherhood groups, and parenting classes. Programs are available in English and Spanish. Classes are available at a variety of locations – call for schedule.

The Center Against Sexual and Family Violence has been providing hope to individuals and families in need, guiding them to recovery. We help rebuild families by giving them a safe place to live, counseling, support groups, therapy, and the resources they need to survive domestic violence and sexual assault. AVDA’s (Aid to Victims of Domestic Abuse) mission is to end family violence by advocating for the safety and self-determination of victims, promoting accountability for abusers, and fostering a community response to abuse. 

The Houston Area Women’s Center serves thousands of women, children and families each year escaping domestic violence, sexual assault, or sex trafficking. They help survivors transform their lives, free from violence. Because of their courage, they are convinced that this crisis can and must be stopped.

Family Violence Prevention Services, Inc. (FVPS) has expanded its services over the last forty three years. Today, FVPS is able to offer residential and non-residential clients shelter, transitional housing, counseling for adults, children, families, and legal services. These services help individuals and families recover from the pain and longer-term effects of domestic violence.

WHAM’s Food Pantry provides a significant supply of groceries for families to prepare nutritional meals, as well as packs of non-perishable foods (and perishable food for those with access to storage) to homeless clients.

The Houston Food Bank distributes food and other essentials to those in need through a network of more than 1,600 community partners. They also provide programs and services aimed at helping families achieve long-term stability including nutrition education, job training, health management, and help in securing state-funded assistance.

Montwood is striving to provide the community with food and clothing. If you are in need, please call them and leave a message with your name and number.  Food and Clothing Distribution is on the 3rd Saturday of each month.  

The Kelly Center for Hunger Relief offers a Food Pantry open to all residents of El Paso County. In addition to the Food Pantry, they also offer a FreshStart program for those experiencing hunger and food insecurity, and a Community Clothes Closet providing professional/business and casual clothing. All Kelly services are free.
