We just wrapped up the second annual Standing With You Mother’s Day Item Drive, and it was a success! There were 16 centers across America who took part in this fundraiser. In total, we were able to help raise thousands of dollars’ worth of baby supplies.
Every year, we invite any pregnancy resource center (PRC) to become an affiliated Standing With You Partner. This partnership includes being a part of the Mother’s Day Item Drive where we promote their baby item wish lists. These online registries are how PRCs provide immediate material support for mothers who are in need.
We received many notes from directors of different centers, letting us know how surprised they were by the tremendous number of gifts received. Jenny, the director of Women’s Care Center in Indianapolis, Indiana emailed us after the drive had ended in thanks. She said:
“We were blown away by the donations we received from this event. The amount of items we received far exceeded most if not any event that has been done before. I think the organizer of the event went above and beyond in putting out the word to the community and making it very simple for donors to find our wish list on Amazon.”
Another center in Rochester, New York called Caring Choices Pregnancy Help Center listed all the items they received from donors, including:
- Rain jackets
- Many diaper boxes (140 count each)
- Baby wipe boxes (8- 10 count each)
- Socks
- Stroller
- Highchair
They were able to split all these gifts among their three locations in Rochester. Natania, the director of Clent Services wrote, “This was really such a blessing to the families we serve and a source of encouragement to our volunteers who were remarking on God’s faithfulness and timing! THANK YOU!!!!!”
Having formula, diapers, clothing, cribs, and all the other baby essentials on hand takes a village. Thank you to everyone who took part in the Mother’s Day Item Drive and for everyone who gives to their local pregnancy resource center regardless of the time of year.
